Trough screw conveyor

The former design of the screw conveyor originates in the Archimedes screw. Over time, the design has changed (mainly in the materials used for the manufacturing of the conveyor). At first, the auger was used for pumping water out of a river. It is now used to convey bulk materials safely and efficiently.
Trough screw conveyors, with spiral welded on a shaft, have become an ordinary device in the process for bulk materials. Their function is to extract, transfer and deliver materials from one place to another for efficient processing.
They can be used in a wide range of industrial applications, for which reason they are one of the most efficient and economic solutions for transporting dry or semi-dry bulk materials.

The Sinfines Factory, S.L. Conveyors

We manufacture conveyors according to industry Standards, or on demand, under the CEMA and ATEX regulations. Sinfines Factory S.L. designs and manufacturing include a very own range of helicoidal screw conveyors in line with the product to be transported and the specific requirements of our customers.
Our spirals are not exclusively used for extracting, transporting and delivering certain products; they can also be designed to mix different materials to form a final, homogeneous product.
Our screw conveyors can be manufactured in a wide range of sizes using different materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel (AISI 304 and AISI316), wear-resistant alloys to satisfy your specific needs and requirements.
Our range of conveyors is available also with shaftless screws designed for viscous materials and at a higher rate of activity.

Example of application

An example of a typical retractable, upside-down, level-loading screw conveyor. The product is inserted through an inlet ramp above the conveyor belt. The product drops through the screw and accumulates below the conveyor, where the product reaches the spiral thread it begins to move forward and continues to move the product at the pre-established height until an operator stops the conveyor or level sensors situated at the end of the container stops it. Once the conveyor has been stopped it can be retracted by the hoist mechanism.
The trough screw conveyor, also known as U trough conveyor, is basically composed of a “U”-shaped housing with a removable (screwed on) cover on top. The sealing , bearings and the motors are mounted at the ends of the equipment.
This type of equipment allows complete access for maintenance to the inside of the screw, as well as any other elements, such as hanger bearings, trough sections.
Dimensions can be adapted to the requirements of each installation.
